Quarantine, 2020

Lucky for me, my experience of collective isolation led to a curious study of love, empathy, emotion, and sensation. As I shared a home with 7 other family members, I found myself exchanging emotions with them daily. This often left me unable to distinguish which feelings and experiences were mine and which were theirs’. Drawing faces and bodies in a meditative blind-contour process became a natural, standardized way for me to unfurl the sensations which lie beneath closed eyes and complex expressions which I, as well as many others, experienced during the Covid-19 pandemic.
