Tori comes from a large Irish-American family. She paints, sculpts, and formulates experiences with the intent to understand and heal herself and others. She views these acts as a metaphorical excavation of emotion, memory, and DNA. Time, memory, materiality, and psychoanalytic theory play a role in helping her understand these concepts. She is inspired most by genetic research, old objects, letters, books, and nature, as well as concepts of motherhood and femininity. Currently, her work consists of process-based drawings as well as studies of mythological archetypes through abstract portraiture and writing.
